"time for the next Expansion Pack - this time I've focused on tracks that offer up lush sound palettes that you can wrap yourself up in to brace for whatever the fk is coming next. Whereas Pack 1 - SPACES - was a largely Mancunian affair, this time I've reached further geographically for contributions, with a strong Aussie representation which I'm very happy about cos I'm really missing my Aus crew in these times....

the multi-disciplinarian FREE LOVE open us up as we all dive into their endless pool, every peaceful ripple perfectly defined. From the yoga mat to the flotation tank, this is your new shortcut to inner calm.

Long time nu-age pen-pal TROPICAL HI-FI follows next with a 10 minute neural teleport direct into his eternal exotic - a place I've spent a lot of time over the years - and 'Monsoon' invites us to weather a storm like none other, emerging confused and cleansed.

My track 'Only Voices' is probs most truthfully described as 'Ruffy gets blazed and fucks around with a microphone' but we are going high concept here so let's say it's an experiment with one of the original musical textures - the voice - harking back to my schoolboy chorister days but also the teeniest influence of autotuned berber music too.

Lets move on quickly to AXEL BOMAN who I can't believe actually sent me a track and what a belter it is - not only is he king of underground and then also quite happy to kick things up a gear for a high profile celeb colab but he can also crank out ambient beauties like this. He weaves this super fine fabric of sound around you, just in time for you to cry all over it. Heart melting.

The second Aussie contribution comes from 'newcomer' INNER GLOW who has a long standing core association with Ruf Kutz; the RK logo was designed by IG before they assumed this new identity and our friendship goes back a LONG way so it's a top buzz to help IG emerge into the world with this meditative synth-wash that's got extra warmth for the coming months; a key part of our Autumn/Winter 2020 wardrobe.

Finally another Aussie and another core RK team member. DARREN ZIESING is better known to RK fans as Stalker - our mastering genius and deep techno deity. After contributing the mighty 'Surface Control' to the first expansion pack he returns this time with a track from his 'Sleep' project - for almost 20 years now Darren has been devoting part of his time to making music for people to sleep to (WAY before Max Richter thought he'd had a good idea) and 'Manndillay' is a prime example of this practice and of course the perfect way to close this pack out.
